Karen G. Loulakis heads up the firm’s estate planning department
and is of counsel
to the firm.
Practice:
Emphasizes estate
and gift tax planning, business succession planning and estate administration
(including the
preparation of Federal and State Gift and Estate Tax Returns) and
probate filings. Estate planning necessarily includes succession
planning for businesses, liquidity planning and the creation of
various entities to serve client needs. It also offers clients
the opportunity to contemplate and document wishes concerning
disability planning.
The practice also
includes charitable planning and representation of private and
public charities; planning in contemplation of marriage; basic
planning for corporations or other business entities; and analysis
of litigation positions related to any of her areas of practice.
Education: She
is a 1980 Boston University School of Law graduate and a 1977
cum laude graduate of Occidental College, in Los
Angeles, California. Following graduation from law school, Karen
fine-tuned her skills as a tax practitioner by spending time with
a small Washington, D.C. law firm and a national public accounting
firm before joining and ultimately becoming a partner in the
Washington, D.C. law firm of Tucker, Flyer & Lewis, P.C. heading
up its estate planning department. She founded The Law
Office of Karen G. Loulakis located in Great Falls, Virginia in
1995 prior to joining the firm
as of counsel in
March 2005.
Ms. Loulakis
